CARES Bio-Ammonia is a blend of scientifically selected bacteria formulated to significantly enhance ammonia removal in wastewater treatment operations. The beneficial side effect is that BOD/COD and sludge are also reduced. Through competitive exclusion, organic nitrogen is converted into amino acids, peptides and aldehydes. Ammonia bacteria are species that accumulate a lot of ammonia, directly consume ammonia and convert nitrate into elemental nitrogen, reducing the amount of nitrate in exhaust gases.
